EPDM (Ethylene-propelene) rubber is a kind of synthetic rubber elastomer widely used in seal production. It is cheaper and easier to process then almost any other seals material. It is the most durable kind of rubber known.
The seals made of EPDM are heat, sunlight, ketones ozone and weather resistant. The maximum heat it can handle is 120 degrees Celsius. Due to these characteristics, EPDM seals can be found in a number of applications, such as door seals, window seals, trunk-seals, hose, tubing, etc. The most common use is in vihicles, although it is utilized also in aerospace, energy and construction.
However EPDM gaskets and seals have a low campatibility with oils, gasoline, kerosene, aromatic solvents and acids. In this case other seals materials, such as silicone or NBR-85. If you are not sure which one will be more suitable, we will make the choice depending on the properties of the operating enviroment.
We will manufacture a standart seal or a custom one from blueprints or drawings provided.
